Jujitsu
Ages 8 and up
Jujitsu is a martial art of close combat for defeating an armed or
unarmed opponent in which one uses no weapons. Techniques include
striking (kicks and punched to the body), throwing (body throws,
joint-lock throw, unbalancing throws) and restraining (pinning,
strabgling, grappling, wrestling). Defensive tactics include
blocking, evading, off-balancing, blending and escaping. Jujitsu is
a method of self defense, fitness and competition.
Karate
The Okinawan martial art referred to as
"empty hand" emphasizes on self-defense, confidence building and
overall physical fitness.
